When you click on a course, there is a link to the forum right next to the "Levels" button. There you can post any questions you have and read posts by the course's author - some of which may well answer important questions you have about the language.

Also, make good use of the "ignore" function. There are a lot of reasons to ignore items: because you already know the word, the word is a cognate and therefore very easy to remember, or you're just tired of seeing it. It's worthwhile to preview each section of the course and see if you want to ignore items before "planting" them, thereby saving yourself a lot of time. You can also ignore items as you plant (look for the button in the upper right corner), and later during review (but only by getting the answer wrong, which seems silly - why can't I ignore an item at any time, Memrise?). I got Pimsleur Turkish 1A and 1B from the library, so it didn't cost me anything. I think it was 18 CDs of listening. Since Turkish is a language where the alphabet was recently changed, the similarity between spelling and pronunciation is a lot more logical than something like French, which has a lot of letters that aren't pronounced. My library also has a lot of Turkish movies and books, and member access to Mango Languages (which includes Turkish) which does a decent job of explaining why something is structured the way it is, and gives some cultural background. Looking at various libraries, it seems most have free access to an online language learning program. Your taxes are paying for it whether you use it or not, so you might as well.

I also recommend finding Turkish friends online. I have four Turkish facebook friends.
